Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information bymarvinsuarez.com collects, why, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email us and we'll explain.

Who we are

By Marvin Suarez is the website of Marvin Suarez, a men's grooming specialist at FreshKills Barbershop, 600 Forest Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10310. When this policy says "we" or "us," it means By Marvin Suarez.

What we collect

• Bookings. This site has no forms and no accounts. Appointments are booked on Booksy. When you book, Booksy collects your details under its own privacy policy and shares what's needed for your appointment with the shop.
• What you send us. If you email us or message us on Instagram, we receive what you choose to share, such as your name, contact details and your message.
• Basic visit data. Our website host, Netlify, records standard request data (IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time) to deliver the site and keep it secure. Our fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when the page loads. The commercial video plays from this site itself, not from YouTube or another video service.
• Cookies and similar tools. We use the Meta Pixel and Google Analytics, described below.

Cookies, the Meta Pixel and Google Analytics

Meta Pixel. A small piece of code from Meta Platforms (the company behind Facebook and Instagram). It tells Meta which pages of this site you visit and when you tap a booking or email link. It uses cookies so we can measure our ads and show our ads to people who have visited this site. Meta may connect this activity to a Facebook or Instagram account you have. Meta explains how it uses this data in its Privacy Policy.

Google Analytics. Counts visits and shows us which pages people use and how they found the site. It uses cookies and sends this data to Google. Google explains how it uses this data on its partner sites page.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, this site does not load either tool.

How we use information

• To answer your messages and arrange appointments, house calls and on-set work.
• To run, protect and fix this website.
• To understand which pages and ads work, so we can improve them.

We don't sell your personal information for money. The Meta Pixel does share your activity on this site with Meta for advertising, as described above, and you can block it using the choices below.

Photos on this site

The haircut photos on this site come from Marvin's public Instagram. If you're in one and want it taken down, email us and we'll remove it.

Who else handles it

Only the services that help run the site and the bookings: Netlify (website hosting), Booksy (appointments), Google (fonts, analytics and Gmail email), and Meta (the Pixel, and Instagram if you message us there). We may also share information if the law requires it.

Your choices

• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or turn on Global Privacy Control.
• Change how Meta uses your data for ads in your Facebook ad preferences.
• Stop Google Analytics on every site with Google's opt-out browser add-on.
• Ask us to show you, correct or delete the information you've sent us. Email us and we'll take care of it. For booking data, you can also manage your details in your Booksy account.

Children

This website is meant for adults. Kids' cuts are booked by a parent or guardian, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this site.

Security

The site runs over HTTPS. No website or email system is perfectly secure, so please don't send passwords or payment details by email or direct message.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
